GreenWizard and Forest Stewardship Council team on sustainable materials

by Rebecca Walker — May 16, 2011—GreenWizard Inc., a Web-based solution to simplify building material selection and to calculate and optimize product-related credits for projects seeking LEED certification, and the Forest Stewardship Council, a global organization that maintains exemplary forest management standards and certification systems, announced that they have entered into a collaborative partnership.

The goal of the partnership is to promote trade in Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) products, as they relate to the green construction industry, and to help solve issues related to proper sustainable-material evaluation. The partnership will also focus on raising the overall profile of FSC certified products and standards within the construction industry.

GreenWizard is said to be the only data-driven workflow solution that puts product search, evaluation, selection, LEED credit modeling/assessment and LEED documentation at the fingertips of the design and construction community. As part of the new partnership, FSC will facilitate entry of its certified companies’ products (along with the accompanying FSC product designations) into the GreenWizard platform.

An international organization, the Forest Stewardship Council was founded in 1993 to apply the power of the marketplace to encourage environmentally sound, socially beneficial, and economically prosperous management of the world’s forests.

GreenWizard, Inc. is a technology company that has created a SaaS solution to help the design build community simplify the process of green product selection and management.
