by jbs102408 i3 — October 27, 2008—Ground-breaking efforts in asset management and sustainability earned top recognition recently from the US General Services Administration during GSA’s 12th annual Real Property Innovation Awards Ceremony.
Two entries received the 2008 GSA Achievement Award: Under the Asset Management category, US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Roof Asset Management Program, and under the Sustainability category: GSA’s Public Buildings Service (PBS) Pacific Rim Region for the San Francisco Federal Building.
Developed by GSA’s Office of Real Property Management, the Real Property Innovation Award recognizes the successes of the federal real property community, strives to improve communications between real property professionals, and shares the best policies and practices implemented by federal agencies.
This year, 13 federal agencies submitted 42 entries covering various categories that encompassed best practices such as real estate policy, real property management, acquisition, construction, sustainable development, disposal, budget, performance, and public-private partnerships.
All submitted entries will be published in the 2008 Best Practices Special Edition Real Property Policysite newsletter, available on the GSA Web site.
