GSA presents report on sustainable development

by Jbs110209 b3 — November 9, 2009&mash;The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) recently presented The New Sustainable Frontier: Principles of Sustainable Development to the Federal Facilities Council. GSA says the guide is designed to help readers move beyond existing “green” and “high-performance” strategies that provide incremental improvements, to ones that will sustain the government’s operations within the scale of the Earth’s closed system.

The 40-page guide and its four-section appendix include concepts, tools, and strategies designed to simplify everyday decision-making and provide guidance for achieving long-term goals.

Visit GSA’s Sustainable Development Web page to download the new report or to see the other educational resources that the GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy Overview’s (OGP) Office of Real Property Management has developed to support federal agencies’ efforts to operate sustainably.
