by Rebecca Walker — January 12, 2009—National Gypsum, a leading gypsum board manufacturers based in Charlotte, N.C., announced that its complete line of XP interior gypsum products has achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified status and GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification.
XP products that have received GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification include Gold Bond BRAND Hi-Abuse XP, Hi-Impact XP and XP Gypsum Board.
The GREENGUARD Certification Program is an industry independent, third-party program that has been certifying products for low non-toxic emissions since 2001. To achieve GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified status, National Gypsum’s products passed rigorous sample testing and review of the manufacturing processes to meet strict standards set by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) a globally recognized leader in indoor air quality to determine their impact on indoor air pollution.
To achieve GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification, the XP product family met even more stringent emissions limits that take into account the added sensitivity of children and adults with compromised immune systems.
National Gypsum’s XP products feature Sporgard, a combination of mold inhibitors offering the most advanced technology to actively combat mold. Sporgard comes from Syngenta, a world leader in mold control. Sporgard is a trademark of a Syngenta Group Company. For more on National Gypsum, see the Web site.
