May 14, 2004—Leading the trend in new workspace and creative solutions in China, Haworth Asia-Pacific launched The Shanghai Creativity Center in late April. The new Center showcases how workspace plays a role in facilitating creativity and productivity for both local and global companies in China.
Divided into three functional areas, The Shanghai Creativity Center has designated space for public, privileged and private use to support the trend in workspace design. It is located in “Corporate Avenue”—a new business complex situated in the heart of fast-growing Shanghai. Corporate Avenue was developed by the Shui On Group.
In the public space, Haworth welcomes Shanghai’s business community to their caf with casual seating and European-style coffee drinks. In addition, workstations with ergonomic chairs in the public area offer visitors a space to work away from their traditional office space.
The privileged space—designed for Corporate Avenue tenants and Haworth’s clients—offers meeting areas and even a “brainstorming” room to stimulate creativity. This space can be reserved to hold seminars, special events and training sessions, and can accommodate 80 people. Full catering facilities are available.
The private space hosts Haworth Asia Pacific regional headquarters, and offers open and shared plan designs that reflect the more communicative, flat structure being embraced by progressive companies.
