June 30, 2006—Haworth has announced that its LifeSPACE walls have achieved SCS (Scientific Certification Systems) Indoor Advantage GOLD certification for indoor air quality.
LifeSPACE walls become Haworth’s third SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification, joining the company’s TecCrete and Nexus access floors in achieving one of the highest standards for indoor air quality certification, says the company.
Indoor Advantage certification, administered by SCS, relies on data collected through small chamber testing, which allows manufacturers to examine a product’s individual components. Indoor Advantage Gold certification conforms to both the California 01350 specification and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools and has the added benefit of being health-driven; based on Chronic Reference Exposure Levels set by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, rather than Total VOCs and Threshold Limit Values (TLVs), the company explains.
SCS is an internationally recognized independent certifier of environmental, sustainability, and food safety claims.
