by Brianna Crandall — April 3, 2015—Hudson Technologies has introduced SmartEnergy OPS, a chiller plant energy optimization solution designed to reduce annual chiller plant system operating costs by up to 35 percent.

SmartEnergy OPS (Operations/Performance/Service) collects and analyzes real-time operating data from water-cooled chiller plant systems, identifies operating issues, and provides actionable steps to improve a system’s efficiency.

Riyaz Papar, director of Global Energy Services for Hudson Technologies, explained, “Our specialized, highly accurate sensors send real-time data from the chiller system to our secure servers every 15 minutes. By combining this accurate real-time data with proprietary algorithms built into the software, and analysis by an experienced Hudson energy engineer, Hudson’s SmartEnergy OPS enables the customer to achieve documented energy and cost savings.”

Papar added, “Because the energy use reductions can be easily verified, they are potential candidates for utility rebate and incentive programs and can also be included in corporate sustainability reports. SmartEnergy OPS can make significant, verified, and sustained reductions in annual operating costs, and we’re excited to offer the package to our customers.”

SmartEnergy OPS also includes Fault Detection and Diagnostics; a tailored refrigerant, oil, and water sampling program with refrigerant analysis by Hudson’s AHRI-certified lab; and lifetime continuous commissioning.

In addition, Hudson provides each customer with dedicated support from energy system engineers who formulate action plans, conduct customized training on accessing data and running reports, and provide detailed periodic operating recommendations.
