ICLEI, Hara provide local governments with environmental, energy management solution

by jbs072310 c3 — July 26, 2010—Hara, provider of environmental and energy management software, and ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability USA, recently launched an exclusive partnership to provide local governments with an end-to-end software solution for holistically managing, forecasting, and reducing energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste and water impacts.

As part of the strategic partnership targeting local governments across the nation, ICLEI USA will offer Hara’s proven environmental and energy management solution to its more than 600 local government members.

The new partnership combines Hara Environmental and Energy Management (EEM) software with ICLEI’s deep sustainability and climate mitigation expertise among local governments.

The software and service solution will provide insight, visibility and auditable transparency to local governments working through ICLEI’s Five Milestone process, which supports establishing a baseline for energy and emissions inventory and forecasting, developing and executing a climate action plan, and measuring implementation progress.

The Hara EEM offering will also provide advanced performance and tracking capabilities that meet reporting requirements for programs such as the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).
