by Brianna Crandall — April 28, 2014—Building on its reputation as a premier brand in commercial lighting, this spring ILEX will launch its first dedicated designer series. Aptly named The Portfolio, ILEX is collaborating with six established and emerging designers to create a sophisticated collection of architectural lighting, blending American craftsmanship with high-end design.
With varied backgrounds in art, product design, architecture, and interiors, each designer brings a unique vision to the line that will appeal to a broad range of discerning lighting specifiers, says the company. ILEX will launch The Portfolio at WantedDesign (May 16-19) during New York’s preeminent design event, NYCxDESIGN.
When ILEX was first created, as a subsidiary of the 65-year-old residential lighting brand Norwell, it was with a commitment to nurturing American design and production, says the company. This mission has reportedly guided the development of the brand’s extensive range of lighting solutions for commercial, hospitality and high-end residential projects for the past 15 years.
Now ILEX will take the concept one step further with the introduction of The Portfolio, a collaborative partnership with six American designers: Michael Graves, Laura Kirar, Christopher Poehlmann, Mick Ricereto, Kevin Walz and Michael Wolk. Each designer will present a collection of lighting that reflects a distinct aesthetic and unique perspective on architectural lighting that ILEX says will enrich any contract or residential setting.
Founded in 2000, ILEX is an American lighting manufacturer based in Taunton, Massachusetts, that creates architectural lighting solutions for commercial, hospitality and high-end residential spaces as well as for custom projects. ILEX employs a team of personnel with over 80 years of expertise in the lighting industry, collectively.
