International Window Film Association booklet covers benefits of advanced window films

by Shane Henson — March 2, 2012—Facilities managers wanting a better understanding of advanced window films and how they can be used to improve energy efficiency, lighting and indoor ambiance can educate themselves through reading a free booklet offered by the International Window Film Association (IWFA), a unified industry body of window film dealers, distributors, and manufactures.

Window Film: Surprising Facts You Need to Know outlines how window film can be professionally installed to bring windows that are in good condition up to modern standards.

Window film is rated by the National Fenestration Rating Council, as are new windows and doors, so property managers can be sure of the benefits, says IWFA. The new booklet helps consumers understand more about how window film delivers up to seven times the energy savings per dollar spent, as compared to installing replacement windows.

“It can reduce energy consumption by reducing solar heat gain, and reduce the carbon footprint, while allowing you to enjoy natural light without the negative impact of harsh glare and UV exposure,” says Darrell Smith, executive director of the IWFA, about window film.
