Interserve wins multi-million pound William Hill national cleaning contract

by Brianna Crandall — March 21, 2011—International support services and construction company Interserve has won a multi-million-pound, three-year contract to provide cleaning services for William Hill’s entire betting shop estate, the largest in the U.K. This is the first time that William Hill has outsourced the cleaning of its entire betting shop estate throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Interserve will clean over 2,300 sites throughout the U.K., with William Hill benefitting from Interserve’s experience in delivering nationwide store support to retailers across the U.K. The company will employ over 1,500 people on the contract, managing the transfer of these from a range of employers, including from William Hill. Interserve says its management knowledge and systems will enable it to increase the efficiency of the large-scale operation and save William Hill money.

Interserve operates in the public and private sectors in the U.K. and internationally, offering advice, design, construction, equipment and facilities management services for society’s infrastructure. The company has revenue of £1.9 billion and a workforce of 50,000 people worldwide. For more information on its commercial or retail sector services, visit the company’s Web site.
