ISS awarded NATO management advisory services contract

by Shane Henson — January 16, 2013—Global facilities services provider ISS has announced that a URS-led team, of which ISS Facility Services, Defence is one of three strategic subcontractors, has been awarded one of four indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts to provide management advisory services to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Under the contract, ISS, along with URS and the other two strategic sub-contractors—Capita Symonds and Grant Thornton—will compete for future task orders to support NATO’s transition to its new headquarters facility in Brussels, as well as other current and future organizational change and improvement initiatives.

Specific task orders could include the design of soft facilities management services, and in particular, catering, retail and welfare services, operational office support, logistics consulting, infrastructure and management consulting, business process design and management, program and project management support, and human capital management consulting, says ISS. In addition, the contract is also usable by all NATO commands to support current and ongoing NATO missions globally.

“This award, which is a new venture for ISS and builds on the recent successes of our Defence business, further demonstrates the value of ISS’ strategic business mix, particularly as global public and private sector organizations seek partners with the scale and comprehensive service offering to meet increasingly complex service support,” said Richard Sykes, CEO of ISS UK.
