ISS to deliver integrated facilities services to São Paulo airport

by Shane Henson — January 6, 2014—Global facilities services provider ISS recently secured an integrated facilities services (IFS) contract with the International Airport of São Paulo, one of the most important travel hubs in Latin America, to ensure its facilities remain clean and in tip-top shape for the thousands of travelers going through the airport each day.

As part of the contract, ISS will be providing cleaning, freight and cargo logistics, and associated building maintenance services. With more than 850 ISS employees involved in a 24/7 operation, it is the first project in this segment awarded to ISS in Brazil, opening new opportunities on a wide and unexplored market in the country, the company says.

“The IFS value proposition is great. Besides São Paulo International Airport, we also extended our partnership with Usiminas, one of the most important steel manufacturing companies in the country, and started new projects with Souza Cruz, the Brazilian British American Tobacco affiliate, and Ambev, Brazilian affiliate of AbInBev group,” said Paulo Schmidt, sales and marketing director at ISS Brazil. “In all the cases, cost optimization, risk mitigation and service integration was key in building compelling value proposition. We have a very interesting 2014 ahead of us.”

Together, São Paulo International Airport, Usiminas, Souza Cruz and Ambev increased the ISS team with more than 1,500 employees delivering IFS services, according to ISS.
