by Brianna Crandall — July 14, 2014—Global chemical company BASF has chosen ISS, a global provider of facility services, to provide integrated facility services for the company’s sites in five European countries as of July 2014: Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands. The successful bid team was headed by ISS Belgium, building on a strong partnership that has developed with BASF at its major Antwerp production site over many years.

Under the agreement, ISS is taking over responsibility for on-site facilities management, building maintenance, mailroom, cleaning, landscaping and related services. The overall portfolio consists of 56 sites across the five countries. The agreement was signed in the BASF headquarters in Ludwigshafen (Germany).

Henrik Andersen, ISS Group COO EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), said, “BASF is one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated operations. We are honored that BASF has selected ISS as a strategic partner to deliver integrated facility services. This partnership shows the strengths of our value proposition where we focus on supporting our customers’ purpose through scalable IFS solutions. Our self-delivery business model allows us to attain higher levels of employee engagement and exploit new synergies, creating value through improved productivity without compromising safety.”

The ISS self-delivery model is complemented by key strategic suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers/Distributors. This ensures that ISS has the technical capabilities to service the BASF facilities’ needs in an integrated and fully compliant manner, says the company.
