ISS tops IAOP Global Outsourcing 100 rankings for second year

by Brianna Crandall — June 4, 2014—Global facilities services provider ISS has again placed number one on the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) annual rankings of the world’s best outsourcing companies. IAOP revealed the lists of its annual Global Outsourcing 100 and World’s 20 Best Outsourcing Advisors in alphabetical order in February, and now the official rankings and sub-lists have been unveiled in a special advertising section in the June 16, 2014, Fortune 500 issue of FORTUNE magazine.

Outsourcing companies apply for inclusion on the lists, and the applications are then judged by an independent panel of experienced outsourcing buyers on four critical characteristics: size and growth; customer references; organizational competencies; and management capabilities. Applicants for the Global Outsourcing 100 are also eligible for the IAOP/ISG GOSRIA award for corporate social responsibility.

In addition to the main list, companies that apply for The Global Outsourcing 100 are grouped into sub-lists by geography, services provided and industry focus. Other honors and categories of special note are highlighted. In all, IAOP created 80+ sub-lists of the 2014 Global Outsourcing 100 companies by “Best Overall,” “Best by Industry Served,” “Best by Service Provided,” and “Best by Geography Served.”

The outsourcing service providers named to the ninth annual listing of Global Outsourcing 100 includes companies from around the world providing the full spectrum of outsourcing services. The top 75 form the Leaders Judging Group of larger, more established firms, and the final 25 comprise the Rising Stars Judging Group of smaller, emerging companies. Besides ISS, the list includes such major FM/real estate services providers as CBRE, Jones Lang LaSalle, Johnson Controls and ARAMARK.

“The companies on this year’s Global Outsourcing 100 list represent the elite in our field, hailing from every corner of the globe and providing an extensive array of cutting-edge services,” said IAOP CEO Debi Hamill. “Each year the competition to be named to the top 100 companies continues to reach higher levels, as the outsourcing industry continues to grow and mature in many markets.”
