ISS wins FM services contracts in Sweden, Denmark, Chile

by Brianna Crandall — November 10, 2014—Global facilities services provider ISS has won outsourcing contracts in several countries in recent weeks, including the ones detailed below.

ISS Sweden: S:t Grans Hospital

ISS Sweden responded well to the strict requirements in Locums invitation to tender for the supply of technical operations and management services at S:t Grans Hospital, and ISS is now set to become the hospitals new service supplier beginning December 1, 2014. The contract will run for five years with an optional three-year extension.

ISS won the prestigious contract following Locums public procurement process, which covers operative, functional and technical building services contracts at S:t Grans Hospital in Stockholm. Locum is one of Swedens largest property managers. The procurement process led by Locum features a pioneering method of evaluating suppliers since submitted tenders were evaluated (80%) based on quality rather than solely on pricing, notes ISS.

The contract will involve ISS specialists in energy, fire safety, electricity and medical gas supply. The contract contains two incentives for increased customer satisfaction and energy-saving measures, which is a challenge ISS says it will take on “with full enthusiasm.” ISS Sweden is reportedly a strong operator in the technical operations market and in the medical sector, delivering technical services to several hospitals in the Stockholm area. ISS also focuses on preventive work in order to minimize downtime and to ensure minimal total operative costs.

ISS Nordic region (Denmark): Aller Media

The ISS Nordic region contract with Aller Media includes services such as catering, cleaning, security and window-cleaning.

Aller Media and ISS entered into a strategic partnership to establish a Nordic Integrated Facility Services (IFS) solution that will support Aller’s Nordic procurement strategy and outsourcing of those activities not included in the company’s core business areas. Aller Media is a leading publisher of weeklies and other magazines in the Nordic region, with a weekly circulation of several million magazines, and with a market share of 72% of the region’s weeklies.

Aller had been looking for a total IFS solution, which ensures the optimal framework for Aller’s employees and customers as well as a solution that guarantees a consistently high level of quality throughout the entire supply chain and across the Nordic region. The strategic partnership will also help to cement ISS position in high-end facilities management solutions.

The five-year contract, which began November 1 in Denmark, includes services such as catering, cleaning, security and window-cleaning. The close collaboration between Aller and ISS should also ensure the continued development of the different services, say the companies.

ISS Chile: Dreams Hotel, Casino and Spa

The ISS Chile contract with the Dreams Hotel, Casino and Spa involves cleaning, stewards and property services, involving more than 165 ISS employees.

ISS will also provide IFS services to Dreams Hotels, Casino and Spa, one of the largest casino operators in Chile, with casinos in Iquique, Temuco, Valdivia, Puerto Varas, Coyhaique and Punta Arenas.

The hotel, casino and spa operator, Dreams, awarded ISS Chile a contract to provide cleaning, stewards and property services, involving more than 165 ISS employees.

Dreams expects to see improvement in both the current outsourced areas and in future areas where it believes ISS can operate, and sees training and continuous improvement as key to the alliance in both the short and long term.
