ISS wins integrated FM, cleaning contracts in China and Chile

by Brianna Crandall — February 8, 2015—Global facilities services provider ISS has won two new extensive outsourcing contracts in China and Chile in recent weeks, highlighted below.

China

Huawei, multinational supplier of mobile telecommunications infrastructure equipment, outsourced the facilities services for its first large multifunctional living campus to ISS China. This campus provides apartments, recreation centers, a medical center and many other living amenities for its residents.

ISS China will provide a full range of services to Huawei, including cleaning, security, office support, customer service, and facilities management. ISS also won the FM service contract for Huawei’s newly built data center, the largest of its kind in China.

These two contracts bring ISS China’s overall scope of service to approximately 600,000 square meters. Approximately 320 ISS employees will work on the contact when it is fully operationally on April 1. The ISS Hong Kong branch is supporting the execution and operation of the new contract. ISS has been in China since 2005, and today has approximately 15,000 employees in the country.

Huawei Technologies Co., founded in 1987, is considered the largest China-based networking and telecommunications equipment and services company. In 2014, Huawei says it successfully replaced Ericsson as the largest supplier of mobile telecommunications infrastructure equipment in the world.

Chile

ISS Chile will provide cleaning, property, support, landscaping and building maintenance services on 263,382 square meters at 27 LAN sites.

LATAM Airlines Group (LAN) awarded ISS Chile a contract to provide cleaning services, and renewed its current property and support services for three years, now covering cleaning, landscaping, support and building maintenance services on 263,382 square meters at 27 sites, with a total of 225 ISS employees. The new contract started on January 1. ISS Chile employs 13,832 people and had a total revenue of DKK 715 million in 2013.

Eduardo Rojas, country manager for ISS Chile, commented, “ISS has provided cleaning services to LAN for the past 20 years and an IFS solution since 2010. Last March, our cleaning service contract with LAN was discontinued, and we are very happy to have regained the contract. It has been a learning process for the whole organization, from site supervisors to top managers. Nine months later, we are proud to confirm that building the right value proposition and really understanding the customer, paired with the right capabilities, has allowed ISS to become a long-term partner to LAN.”

Sebastian Myler, infrastructure manager at LAN, added, “LAN chose ISS as a strategic partner because they have known our company over time, both in cleaning services as well as maintenance. ISS is always willing to help the client, with good disposition and customer service, focused on solving problems, adding value to their management.”

LATAM Airlines Group is considered the largest airline in Latin America, with flights to South America, North America, Europe and Oceania.
