by Brianna Crandall — August 8, 2016 — Worldwide cleaning industry association ISSA has added five new titles in recent weeks to its collection of free ISSA-TV Educational Quick Clip cleaning industry-related videos. In the new educational videos, industry experts cover the updated LEED v4 system, cleaning for health, long-term sales value, managing the generation gap, and options for daytime cleaning.
ISSA-TV: Taking the Lead on LEED
In the latest Educational Quick Clip video, green cleaning expert Steve Ashkin of The Ashkin Group and the Green Cleaning Network previews some of the changes readers can expect with the newest version of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, LEED v4, which the U.S. Green Building Council is introducing in October 2016. ISSA notes that some companies have developed products or services to help clients comply with LEED requirements.
ISSA-TV: Cleaning for Health (Not Just Appearance)
Most readers have heard the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” In the world of cleaning, that translates to: “Just because a surface looks clean doesn’t mean it’s free of germs.” In the Quick Clip video for the week of July 13, infection prevention expert Rosie D. Lyles, MD, explains the difference between cleaning for appearance and cleaning for health. She also offers expert tips on how to choose the right product for the job, where to use disinfecting wipes, and how to kill germs even on soft surfaces.
ISSA-TV: Looking Beyond Today’s Sales to Realize Long Term Value
For those struggling to achieve their vision of sales success, ISSA says it may be time to get their eyes examined. In the ISSA-TV video for the week of June 29, sales consultant Dave Fellman discusses the importance of being able to see both near and far when it comes to sales. He also spells out how taking a closer look at current customers can provide three levels of value.
ISSA-TV: Managing the Jansan Generation Gap
According to ISSA, the cleaning industry is currently facing a major cultural shift. As Baby Boomers head toward retirement and Millennials begin their careers, some business experts are predicting a sea change in the way companies do business. In the free Quick Clip for the week of June 15, business-to-business sales consultant Jim Pancero looks into the future and forecasts how the waves of employees entering and exiting the workforce will affect distributors as well as the cleaning industry as a whole.
ISSA-TV: Three Cleaning Tasks You Can Tackle in the Daytime
For facilities managers who are considering daytime cleaning as an alternative to cleaning at night, in the video for the week of May 26, IICRC Master Textile Cleaner Richard Bodo, director of training at Kärcher North America, spotlights three tasks the cleaning team can tackle during the day. ISSA says these include vacuuming — even with workers in the building.
