by Shane Henson — July 22, 2013—Jigsaw Cleaning Systems, a U.K.-based company providing a range of cleaning products for the healthcare industry, recently announced the launch of the first antibacterial cleaning trolley system to the U.K. market.
According to Jigsaw Cleaning Systems, its A-B Plus Anti-Bacterial System represents a major breakthrough in hospitals’ battle against bacteria and viruses, especially within operating theaters, infection disease wards and intensive care units. The trolley system was developed by Filmop, a manufacturer of industrial cleaning equipment, and offers a total solution to infection control in cleaning, helping to stop the spread of such threats as the norovirus, E. coli and salmonella. It is also resistant to chlorine, often a damaging agent in healthcare environments, says Jigsaw Cleaning Systems.
The new system has been tested to all relevant standards, including ISO 20743-2007 and ISO 22196-2011, and shows a reduction of 99.9 percent in bacteria within 20 minutes of use. It does not degrade with age during its lifetime, and the trolley and its parts, including the microfiber mops and plastic components, are all recyclable after use, adds Jigsaw Cleaning Systems.
“We believe in effective cleaning and sustainability. This system provides a solution on both counts, and our customers are welcoming it because it meets many of the challenges which have previously presented huge difficulties to hospitals and other public institutions,” says Paolo Scapinello of Filmop.
In addition to healthcare facilities, the trolley system is also ideal for nursing homes, schools and universities, areas in airports, shopping malls and large public spaces, says Jigsaw Cleaning Systems.
