J+J/Invision rolls out Origins carpet collection specifically for senior living facilities

by Rebecca Walker — June 5, 2009—Origins, a new carpet collection by J+J/Invision, features an array of patterns and colorways that offer endless combinations to accommodate the needs of senior living facilities, says the company.

J+J/Invision conducted months of research to make sure that each necessity and demand of the senior living market was considered while designing Origins. Each pattern is intended to evoke familiarity and a sense of reassurance, while the colorways were selected to energize and inspire with a feeling of warmth and comfort.

The five pattern motifs, including Baroque, Romanesque, Rococo, Palladian and Pombaline, are set in classical themes, yet rendered in a clean, modern style that works equally well in both traditional and transitional interiors. Each was created to help hide soiling and staining to keep the installation looking new for years to come.

Baroque is a rich, layered large organic scroll, perfect for large areas such as lobbies or dining rooms. Romanesque is more of a mid-scale design, suitable for any area where a more hospitality-oriented design is appropriate. Rococo has a classic, yet whimsical theme. Palladian works well as a background complement when used with its more patterned sister products. And Pombaline is a textured semi-solid loop, perfect for rooms, borders and way-finding.

The ten colorways of Origins were created to combat the yellow cast that vision takes on as people age. The J+J/Invision designers donned yellow glasses to test and select each colorway.
