February 17, 2006—Building Products Manufacturer Johns Manville is partnering with Tarco, the nation’s largest roofing underlayment company, to create a new asphalt synthetic underlayment called EasyLay, the companies say.

EasyLay is Tarco’s new Leakbarrier product that employs DuraBase, JM’s innovative weatherproof technology.

DuraBase is unique to the underlayment industry in that it employs the proven technology of asphalt with a new high-performance nonwoven polyester reinforcement. DuraBase technology also allows the EasyLay product to unroll flat in warm and cold weather. Additionally, EasyLay offers greater waterproofing performance and better protection, as it employs DuraBase technology, which provides sealing around nails.

Tarco, based in Little Rock, Ark., is the leading supplier of roofing underlayments for use under roof shingles, ceramic tile and steel roofing. Since 1978, Tarco has steadily broadened its market presence to become one of the largest independently-owned manufacturers of roofing materials for residential and commercial roofing in North America.
