March 31, 2006—The BBC has chosen Johnson Controls as its preferred supplier to provide facilities management services for properties in London and Scotland and specialist facilities management services for the UK property portfolio.
Johnson Controls will take over from the current FM provider, Land Securities Trillium, on 1 July, subject to contract signature.
The contract is for five years, with an option to extend for a further three years.
The naming of Johnson Controls follows a lengthy and rigorous procurement process. Over a nine-month assessment period, from an initial field of 48, six companies were invited to tender. This was then reduced to shortlists of three, and then two, following a detailed assessment of each company’s service proposal.
Johnson Controls offer products and services that optimize energy use and improve comfort and security in buildings. For more on the company, visit its Web site.
