JouleX, Triton partner to reduce data center energy use three-fold

by Shane Henson — August 15, 2011—JouleX, an innovator in enterprise energy management systems for data centers, distributed office environments, and facilities, recently announced it entered into an agreement with Triton Federal Solutions, a project performance corporation (PPC) company, to implement and integrate the JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) technology for commercial and federal customers that want to reduce their energy savings three-fold.

Together, the companies are helping customers such as the Department of Energy (DOE) reduce their economic, environmental and social impacts. The companies have already begun work within the DOE to measure, manage and evaluate energy usage in its data centers at a granular level. DOE facilities managers and others working for companies that are implanting JouleX can expect to see significant energy and cost reductions through using this technology.

Triton implements JouleX to automatically monitor and control the dynamic energy consumption of all devices across an enterprise and to populate energy and utilization information into a customer’s decision-support systems. Triton helps customers interpret the information to make decisions and to take specific actions that make agencies and their data centers more sustainable. Customers can utilize this information for sustainable procurement practices that factor energy consumption into purchasing decisions; to see how and where energy is consumed and wasted; to identify and prioritize energy- and cost-savings opportunities; and to enact measures to reduce their energy consumption.
