by Brianna Crandall — October 16, 2013—Kaivac, developer of the OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning System for extreme soil removal, is now offering versions of its popular pre-configured 150 and 500 psi OmniFlex Spray-and-Vac models that have been optimized for demanding food service environments.

The modifications for both models include a 35-foot grease- and trans-fat-resistant, crush-proof vacuum hose system; a one-piece wand for more aggressive brushing, perfect for cleaning heavily soiled kitchen floors; and a straight U-shaped push handle to minimize the footprint in tight spaces.

Modeled after the original Spray-and-Vac system, which was designed for cleaning restrooms and other heavily soiled areas, the new additions are designed to make cleaning food service floors easier and more effective.

The OmniFlex system, which was introduced over two years ago and was one of the 2012 Kitchen Innovations Award recipients presented by the National Restaurant Association, allows users to customize a complete, cost-effective cleaning system to meet a variety of needs for virtually any task or surface in the building.

The foundation for the system, which was issued a U.S. patent on October 1, is a trolley bucket that automatically dispenses fresh cleaning solution directly to floors as it is used. From here, other components can be added, turning the system into an AutoVac machine for floor care and a dispense-and-vac, spray-and-squeegee, or spray-and-vac system to clean several types of surfaces.
