by Brianna Crandall — June 16, 2017 — Of interest to facilities managers looking for a cost-effective way to supply filtered water to keep their building’s occupants hydrated, cleaning device manufacturer Kärcher is expanding its range of commercial water dispensers with the WPD 50, a cost-effective and space-saving middle-class model suitable for small offices, kitchens, conference rooms and waiting rooms.
The WPD 50 has been deliberately reduced to the chilled and ambient functions. It supplies up to 15 liters of chilled water per hour, and 85 liters in the case of ambient water. This means that up to 35 people can be supplied with filtered water.
To ensure a pure taste, a sintered active carbon filter removes chlorine, heavy metals and residues from the water line. As an additional cleaning step, an ultraviolet (UV) lamp installed uses its light to destroy bacteria and viruses in the water. All beneficial minerals and nutrients, however, are retained.
Depending on use, chemical cleaning is necessary once every six months. This ensures that residues are reliably removed from all components of the WPD 50 that come into contact with water.
Refinement of drinking water at an affordable price
Tap water varies in quality, both in terms of taste and in relation to residues, notes the company. With the Kärcher water dispenser, tap water is filtered and refined. A further advantage is that the water dispenser costs only a fraction of water purchased by the bottle or gallon. Once installed, the WPD also requires practically no further maintenance, says Kärcher.
