by Ann Withanee — May 4, 2011—KBR announces that its Building Group has been selected to provide preconstruction services for Valdosta State University’s (VSU) new $32 million Health Science and College of Business Administration building on the university’s north campus in Valdosta, Georgia.
The planned 144,000-square-foot facility will house four allied health services programs — College of Nursing, Social Work, Communications Disorders, and Sports Medicine/Exercise Physiology — as well as classrooms, labs and support space for VSU’s College of Business Administration.
The Building Group’s Atlanta and Nashville offices are responsible for the project, which is expected to break ground when construction funding is approved by the state. Preconstruction activities are already underway. This is the Building Group’s second project awarded by the Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) in partnership with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The Building Group is currently constructing a new School of Dentistry for the Georgia Health Sciences University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) in Augusta.
