by Shane Henson — February 18, 2013—Executives and junior management alike will appreciate the comfort and sleek upholstery offered in Cona, a chair designed for conference rooms but equally suitable for private offices.

Cona is manufactured by Keilhauer, a company offering a range of office seating. According to Keilhauer, the product’s well-proportioned backrest, knee-tilt mechanism, and seat-height adjustability combine to create the perfect seat for upright desk work or reclined reflection.

“When I look at Cona, I’m reminded of a 1960s bucket chair, although with a more refined aesthetic,” says company president Mike Keilhauer. “Our products tend to have a linear look, so I wanted to add a chair with softer lines to our offering, and I wanted the chair to be designed from the outset to have closed arms, to give the design an organic look and feel, unlike some executive chairs whose closed arms seem to be added on, almost as an afterthought.”

With a nod to the trend toward modern nostalgia in interiors, Cona’s scale, proportions, and form provide a well-resolved chair that will make any boardroom look great, he says.

Keilhauer says that, like all of its products, Cona is made from materials that are recycled or sustainable, last for the longest possible time, and are recyclable. The base of the chair is aluminum, and the body of the chair is made with rigid foam with fiberglass reinforcement, molded with flex foam then layered with hybrid fabricated foam. The seat is made of rigid foam, molded with flex foam, and then layered with four pounds of Visco and Hybrid foam.

Recognized with GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality certification, and “level” 1 certification from the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA), Cona is backed by Keilhauer’s 10-year warranty.
