Kimball Office expands material choices, simplifies ordering process

by Rebecca Walker — January 19, 2011—Kimball Office announced the official launch of the company’s new surface materials platform, beginning with the introduction of a new Vision collection of more than 70 panel and seating fabrics. Other surface materials, such as finishes, paints, laminates, and wood, will be introduced in the future. Kimball Office developed the platform with the help of Perkins+Will design principals Eva Maddox and Eileen Jones and their team of designers.

The platform strives to simplify the selection, ordering, and receiving process for clients, designers, and facility managers.

The Vision collection includes an alliance of designer fabrics from Maharam, Carnegie, KnollTextiles, and Mayer Fabrics, which are complemented by Kimball Office’s own in-line offerings. A focus was placed on identifying textiles with the design trends of today and tomorrow in mind, including timeless classic colors, small, medium, and large patterns, solid textures, stripes, leather and faux leather. Additionally, 19 healthcare-specific fabrics are available, which include a variety of options with antimicrobial, bleach-cleanable, and moisture barrier attributes.

The Vision collection offers solutions that work across all market segments, and coordinate and complement Kimball Office’s wide range of wood finishes, paint, and laminate colors for the open plan, private office, lounge, and conference room.

The updated portfolio supports Kimball Office’s dedication to sustainability, through the use of environmentally friendly and high-quality textiles from more than seven top industry mills. For more information, see the Web site.
