People-centric design and a rapidly evolving workplace are key topics in the company’s design and product strategy, as is evident in this year’s Kimball Office Chicago showroom and promotional efforts. The company revealed a reimagined workspace showroom with nearly 20 new product introductions and/or enhancements and a GoPro giveaway promotion.
Two of the new products are described below.
Responding to the prevalent desire for the modern workspace to provide a diverse environment that allows people to work multiple ways, Kimball Office’s newest systems collection consciously uses only the most necessary materials—in the most efficient ways—to deliver a refined furniture system with a valued economic solution.
By combining the openness of a bench with the visual privacy of a panel system, Xsede balances focus and collaboration by providing users the freedom to develop the space they need. Whether the need of the moment is to create, converse, collaborate, or concentrate, Xsede can be tailored to support the tasks of a workforce without compromising the overall movement of the open plan.
Xsede can be configured to support a variety of solutions for the open plan, from individual focus to group collaboration, within budget. A minimalistic approach and common kit of parts keep Xsede simple and intuitive. Technology options include the Xsede Tech Tile, Power In Feed Leg, Power Entry Hole, Power/Data Bar, Power/Data Grommet, Tech Tray, and Ceiling Power Pole.
Villa Shade
Intimate conversation areas can be created by adding shade to the ever-popular Villa highback lounge seating. Installed in either a private or semi-private orientation, Villa Shade offers calm settings for rest or focus.
Villa Shade can be configured to meet very specific needs including privacy, power and data. Its simple design is complemented by its meticulous hemstitch detail. Applicable on a one- or two-seat highback (24, 30 or 48 inches wide), the shades are factory installed on the left, right, or both sides of the unit, and are wider at the bottom or the top. Villa Shade can be personalized by using multiple contrasting upholstery options or adding newly available pillow options.
