Kimberly-Clark Professional launches Green Patrol program

by Rebecca Walker — April 19, 2010—To support environmental projects across the country, Kimberly-Clark Professional has launched the Green Patrol, a program that will bring employees and other volunteers to communities throughout the country to help plant trees, aid in cleanup and recycling projects and other environmental efforts.

The Green Patrols first projects will be in Atlanta, near Kimberly-Clark Professionals Roswell, Georgia, headquarters, and Philadelphia. It will also provide rewards to people for random acts that benefit the environment, such as putting trash into recycling bins or bicycling to work.

“The Green Patrol is a hands-on effort to make a positive impact on the environment, city-by-city and state-by-state,” said Kevin McVeigh, associate marketing director for sustainability for Kimberly-Clark Professional North America. “Throughout this year, which marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, we are going to be putting feet on the street at events that support clean air, reforestation, recycling, composting, as well as other activities that benefit the environment.”

Kimberly-Clark Professional is one of the largest manufacturers of washroom products in the world, serving commercial institutional facilities such as office buildings, hotels, schools, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants and other public buildings.
