by Ann Withanee — October 22, 2010—Kimberly-Clark Professional announces the latest addition to its repertoire of innovative, space-saving towel systems: the new Scott Slimroll towel system, a high-capacity, touchless dispensing system that is nearly half the size of standard Kimberly-Clark Professional Sanitouch roll towel dispensers.

Like its predecessor, the Kleenex Slimfold towel dispenser, the Scott Slimroll towel system fits into the tightest spaces right next to a sink or near a nurse’s station places where towel dispensers could never go before. It also offers efficient, touchless dispensing without the noise, costs and disposal concerns of batteries associated with other touchless dispensers.

The system provides a 10-inch, pre-cut towel that is FSC certified and exceeds EPA minimums for post-consumer waste content. Because the towels are on a roll, rather than folded, the system also offers higher capacity up to 695 towels per roll helping to reduce waste as well as maintenance time.

The small size of the new Scott Slimroll towel system also allows for it to be mounted closer to the sink, which helps eliminate slip hazards caused by dripping hands.

“The Scott Slimroll towel system not only delivers towels where they are needed, it also delivers more towels in less space reducing changeouts, run-outs and complaints,” said Dale Archer, towel category manager for Kimberly-Clark Professional. “Our towels also feature Absorbency Pockets, which absorb water so effectively that fewer towels are needed to dry hands. Combine this with one-at-a-time dispensing and a stub roll feature, and you virtually eliminate wasted paper and improve cost-in-use.”

In addition to these benefits, the Scott Slimroll towel system is ADA compliant, has an emergency feed knob to reduce waste and complaints, and features durable ABS plastic construction.

In 2009, Kimberly-Clark Professional launched Reduce Today, Respect Tomorrow, a program that represents the Kimberly-Clark Professional philosophy of reducing the use of natural resources throughout the life cycle of its products. This big-picture approach helps the company design products to eliminate waste from the start. Products created with source-reduction in mind are designed in such a way that users actually consume less, either through improved performance, more reliable dispensing methods, or both. If less is consumed in the first place, it often means there is less packaging waste, which further reduces the amount of waste to recycle, or send to landfill.
