by Ann Withanee — October 19, 2011—Kingspan Insulated Panels North America, a global manufacturer of insulated metal panels, introduces its KarrierPanel that, explains Kingspan, is a cost-effective alternative solution to traditional multi-component wall systems that support metal, tile or brick façades.

The single-component, universal barrier wall system increases speed of build while minimizing delays and the need for multiple trades. The result is less labor time on site and minimal construction waste. Faster close-in and dry-in times further reduce building costs. Building owners and facilities executives, says Kingspan, will also appreciate KarrierPanel’s thermal performance, including an R-value of 7.5 per inch that helps reduce energy costs, and excellent moisture, air and thermal barriers.

“This newest addition to the Kingspan line of wall systems supports Kingspan’s EnvelopeFirst approach to design,” says Louise Foody, Kingspan’s marketing manager. “EnvelopeFirst is a strategy for optimizing a building’s performance that is also the first step toward Net-Zero Energy. The strategy focuses on enclosure performance, including durability, air-tightness and better moisture and thermal control, all key features of the KarrierPanel wall system.”

Kingspan has designed a host of advantages into its new KarrierPanel, not the least of which is to help buildings achieve Net-Zero Energy, which was mandated by President Barack Obama for Federal Buildings several years ago. KarrierPanel also reduces time and cost of building, eliminates need for multiple trades, and has a high R-rating for thermal performance. And more, this single-component system can support such weighty façade materials as brick and metal. An eco-friendly product, KarrierPanel’s exterior skins contain a substantial amount of recycled content, and the panels themselves are recyclable.

Kingspan Insulated Panels North America displayed and demonstrated its new KarrierPanel wall system during October’s METALCON International expo in Atlanta, Georgia.
