by Brianna Crandall — December 28, 2018 — Knightscope, a developer of advanced physical security technologies focused on enhancing US security operations, premiered the all-new, 4th-generation crime-fighting K5 fully autonomous security robot and the all-new 6th-generation Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC) user interface at the recent ASIS GSX (Global Security Exchange) in Las Vegas.
Knightscope leveraged its real-world experience of fully autonomous, 24/7 operations for 400,000+ hours, traveling 200,000+ miles across 16 states in four time zones to build this new suite of technologies. Additionally, the KSOC premiered an integration with SureView as a step forward to integrating autonomous security robot solutions within existing frameworks.
William Santana Li, chairman and chief executive officer, Knightscope, stated before the show:
Knightscope is committed to innovation and staying one step ahead of the evolving criminal landscape to keep America safe. At GSX, we’re excited to offer attendees a glimpse into the future of security, with proven cutting-edge technology that is already making an impact on fighting crime.
Knightscope K5 security robot
The Knightscope K5 autonomous data machine (ADM) is primarily an outdoor machine that runs 24/7 on its own, including autonomously recharging itself without any human intervention. It is best suited for securing large outdoor spaces. Working together with human eyes, facilities managers (FMs) and security managers can be better equipped to keep areas such as parking lots, corporate campuses, warehouses, airports, stadiums and hospitals safe autonomously.
The 62.5” robot offers force-multiplying physical deterrence, with such features as eye-level 360-degree HD video streaming and recording; people detection during certain restricted hours; quad automatic license plate recognition; thermal anomaly detection; pre-recorded messages and more.
Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC)
The Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC) enables FMs to stay connected around the clock, with 24/7/365 access via a desktop or mobile app. All data generated by the Knightscope security robot is accessible through the KSOC, a highly intuitive, browser-based user interface. Customers can recall, review, and save the data for forensic or event documenting purposes.
