by AF 0410 f3 — April 7, 2010—A portable air conditioner that delivers a powerful 12 tons (139,400 BTU/hr) of cooling capacity in a very compact size is offered by Atlas Sales & Rentals, Inc.
Manufactured by KwiKool Portable Cooling Systems, the new model KPO portable unit measures 32″ wide by 64″ deep by 62″ high — about the size of a typical 5-ton unit — and is small enough to fit through a standard door, notes the company.
The 12-ton unit can be positioned outdoors to duct cold air in, or indoors to duct hot air out. Condenser and cold supply and return air can be ducted up to 60 ft using high static blowers. The unit features cam locks with an internal circuit breaker to allow easy hookup to either the 208/230-volt or the 460-volt 3-phase models, and an integral phase and power monitor provides protection from electrical power quality issues. The portable air conditioner also has low ambient temperature controls with a condenser operating range of 30°F to 100°F.
The KPO 12-ton portable air conditioner is available from Atlas for rental or purchase and can be used for primary, supplemental or emergency cooling. Atlas offers a full line of portable cooling solutions from KwiKool to fit a wide range of applications. All KwiKool models are manufactured in the United States.
