October 20, 2006—Landscape Forms has introduced Wellspring, the first commercial outdoor furniture designed specifically for retirement and healthcare environments, according to the company.
Wellspring, explains the leader in site furniture, addresses the need for garden and courtyard furniture that meets the specific physical requirements of the ailing and recovering, aging and assisted, active and retired. It responds to mounting evidence that nature does have the power to heal and that green spaces and healing gardens can have profound effects on human health and wellbeing, according to Landscape Forms.
Wellspring is a teak wood collection with a chair, bench, rocker, table, and sunshade. Designed by landscape architect Robert Chipman, it is visually appealing and comfortable for users of all ages and abilities, says Landscape Forms.
The Wellspring chair, bench, and rocker have higher than typical arms, contoured seats, curved backs, and extra slats for added comfort and support. The front end of the arm extends beyond the front edge of the seat to help users pull themselves up from a seated position.
The sunshade has a 10-foot-by-10-foot pyramid-shaped fabric canopy that provides more complete sun protection than a typical umbrella. This, explains Landscape Forms, is an important feature in settings for people who often sit in one location for long periods of time and require extra protection from heat and UV exposure.
