by Brianna Crandall — November 5, 2014—High-design site furniture manufacturer Landscape Forms has just introduced Arne, a light inspired by the renowned Danish architect and product designer Arne Jacobsen, and the latest addition to Landscape Forms’ collection of lighting solutions for outdoor spaces. Arne, from the company’s Barcelona-based global partner, Santa & Cole, is said to combine design in the high modernist tradition with 21st century light-emitting diode (LED) technology.
“Landscape Forms is expanding its offering of lights for outdoor environments because lighting is an important element in creating a sense of place,” explains company President Richard Heriford. “Arne is designed with international appeal and the advanced LED technology for which our lighting products are known.”
Arne is a versatile light, points out Landscape Forms. Elegant in its formal clarity, rational in its use of material as well as highly functional, it is designed to work beautifully in a variety of contexts. Arne can be used as a pendant light, a wall-mounted lamp, a catenary, or a floodlight fixed to a column; it complements traditional and contemporary architecture in defined and open settings.
Kirt Martin, Landscape Forms vice president, design and marketing, says, “Arne is beautiful, super-clean and European in flair. Like indoor lighting systems that let you direct and control light, Arne can be used to illuminate, highlight, or focus on desired elements to create the experience of outdoor space.”
Arne is engineered to provide exceptional LED energy efficiency with a useful life of 60,000 hours, and to be easy to install and maintain. Its LED optics offer street or flood light distribution, and the Arne luminaire can house multiple LED arrays to provide 18 or 36 LEDs in both street and flood versions. Arne provides adjustable light intensity and color temperature, and with full 360° rotation, can be used to light all aspects of the environment, from walkways and buildings to monuments and trees.
The Arne luminaire is made of recycled and recyclable die cast aluminum with a tempered glass cover. All metal is polyester powder coat finished; standard and custom colors are available.
