by Shane Henson — March 1, 2013—Larson Electronics, a Texas-based provider of a full range of industrial and commercial lighting solutions, has announced the release of a high-output boiler inspection light intended for use during boiler servicing and maintenance activities, as well as general illumination applications.

The WALBL-1000WMH Boiler Light is designed to provide a powerful and versatile lighting solution for operators working with boilers that allows them to easily adjust the placement and positioning of the lighting system for maximum effective coverage, says the company.

According to Larson Electronics, the boiler inspection light features a wheeled base supporting an adjustable folding boom with metal halide lamp assembly and produces more than 100,000 lumens of high-intensity light output. This light operates similarly to standard light towers, but features an adjustable light boom that can be folded over at an angle to allow positioning the lamp assembly through standard boiler access doors, the company explains. The light boom is extendable and can be lengthened or shortened to provide added maneuverability and is fitted with an added drop-down support leg to improve stability when fully extended.

The main boom and base assembly is constructed of heavy-duty steel for high strength and durability and has been powder coated to provide a tough finish that resists the effects of rust and corrosion. The base is equipped with four solid wheels that have been specially designed to allow rolling over rough surfaces such as floor grates and are fitted with built in wheel locks to hold the system in position once placed.

The ballast assembly for the metal halide lamp has been mounted to the base for added stability and features a powder-coated steel enclosure for protection and 120 – 277 VAC compatibility with standard voltage, adds Larson Electronics.
