Legrand shares resources to help companies improve energy performance

by Shane Henson — November 23, 2012—After successfully implementing energy and cost-savings programs that helped reduce energy intensity across its North American facilities, Legrand, a worldwide provider of products and systems for electrical installations and information networks wherever people live and work, is helping other businesses do the same.

The company published its 16-page Energy Management Handbook to serve as a straightforward tool to help companies take a practical and logical approach to launching an energy management program. According to Legrand, the handbook draws on key points learned from its efforts to reduce energy consumption. It outlines a four-step process: Making a Commitment, Assessing Your Current State of Energy Use, Creating an Action Plan, and Reporting and Evaluating Progress.

The second resource Legrand launched to assist companies is an Energy Project Evaluation Tool—an interactive spreadsheet that shows companies where to start on their energy-savings journey. To explain the Energy Project Evaluation Tool, Legrand will offer Web-based learning modules. Information on the upcoming learning modules can be accessed on the company’s Sustainability Web site.

In addition to these two practical energy-savings resources, the Legrand Sustainability Web site features Legrand products, applications, and solutions to help customers reduce energy consumption. The site also includes links to other helpful resources offered by the Department of Energy and the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, among others, says Legrand.
