by AF 0514 h3 — May 18, 2009—Lenel Systems International Inc.’s new premium video surveillance solution, SkyPoint, has been commercially released and is now available through the company’s global network of certified value-added resellers, the company announced. Lenel is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
On Guard VideoManager will remain Lenel’s standard level video solution in Lenel’s strategy to make video surveillance affordable at all levels in the marketplace, according to the company.
SkyPoint presents new features such as dynamic response, a kinetic scalable timeline, time and motion slicing and optional touch-screen support with extraordinary ease of use, according to Lenel.
To deliver the SkyPoint video solution, Lenel has established a joint technology development partnership with the industry’s leading IP-video software provider, On-Net Surveillance Systems (OnSSI). This allows Lenel to utilize pioneering OnSSI video technologies such as NetDVMS, NetDVR, ProSight SMB, and the Video Wall control interface, NetSwitcher, alongside Lenel’s own network video recorders and video analytics capabilities, to broaden the functionality of the system.
SkyPoint is currently being offered as a stand-alone video solution. During the next 9 to12 months Lenel and OnSSI plan to develop complete interoperability between SkyPoint and OnGuard, Lenel’s access control solution. The integration is planned to provide a unified and user-friendly interface through which to configure and modify the entire system, as well as the ability to seamlessly monitor and manage access events and associated video streams.
