by Brianna Crandall — February 16, 2011—Building Research Establishment (BRE) Global’s Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) has announced that the newest version of its Red Book is now interactive. The Red Book is a globally respected listing of independently certified products or company services, a reference for those responsible for the design, specification and purchase of fire and security products.
New for 2011, LPCB has enhanced the use of the Red Book “List of approved products and services” by launching Red Book “Updater” software. This software is available on the Red Book memory stick and CD formats and will also be downloadable from the Red Book Live Web site.
In seconds, the latest issue of the preferred sections of the Red Book can now be updated and stored on demand by the end user. Direct links to the Loss Prevention Standards (LPS), suspensions and withdrawals are also available.
LPCB continues to produce the 2011 Red Book volumes 1 and 2 in printed format, as well. Hardcopy and memory stick formats are only generally available for distribution in the U.K. The CD ROM format is available for distribution outside the U.K.
