by Shane Henson — May 9, 2012—Lumenergi, a provider of network-controlled lighting energy management solutions, has extended its product line in a way it says will fundamentally change and improve how commercial facilities manage lighting energy. Lumenergi introduced its new Room Solution alongside its Area and Building Solution configurations at LIGHTFAIR International in Las Vegas May 9-11, 2012.
The company’s new Room Solution brings Lumenergi’s intelligent lighting control network down to small spaces, enabling a highly customizable system that integrates most lamp types and existing building infrastructure with local dimming and control. Customers starting with the Room Solution now have the flexibility to extend their lighting control system beyond a small space to an entire building with total investment protection, the company says.
Facilities managers who invest in the Room Solution to meet their buildings’ changing lighting needs may also be impressed with its ability to reduce energy costs. While preserving lighting infrastructure, the Room Solution offers up to 50% energy savings for smaller spaces without the need for external power to any components, centralized control software or networked servers, says Lumenergi.
Lumenergi is also introducing a new Intelligent Sensor, capable of both occupancy and photo sensing in a single device. The sensor’s occupancy capability is utilized in the integrated Room Solution when combined with a wall control switch providing local dimming and automatic pre-set scene control. Easily operated by any building occupant, the Room Solution can be customized by avid users who want to personalize their lighting scenes, the company says.
The new Room Solution provides a plug-and-play DALI and 0-10V control for most light sources, including LFLs (linear fluorescent lamps), CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps), LEDs (light-emitting diodes), and halogens. Standard features include occupancy sensing, programmed time-out and courtesy flash signaling control of all zones. All of these capabilities can be enabled without the need for servers, PCs, control software or external power to the components, making it one of the most agile lighting control products available, claims the company.
The Room Solution is also easy to install, and integrates with existing or new lighting infrastructure by just click-connecting the system elements. With powerful scene functionality in a convenient, intuitive and cost-effective product, facilities can scale up to multiple rooms, areas or a complete building when and where customers want to meet energy efficiency goals, adds Lumenergi.
