by Brianna Crandall — January 13, 2016—The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, a world-class resort destination at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, recently called upon Lunera Lighting to bring quality light-emitting diode (LED) lighting to the resort to save on energy and maintenance costs.
The near-daylight illumination of Lunera’s Helen Lamp is an ideal solution to directly replace the 3,000 compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) used in the four-star resort’s spacious ballroom, says Lunera. The plug-and-play feature of the lamp, made possible by Lunera’s BallastLED technology, lowers installation cost and minimizes installation disruption. Maintenance costs are virtually eliminated thanks to the lamp’s long lifetime, adds the company.
By replacing the existing 35-watt CFLs with Lunera’s 13-watt Helen Lamps, the facility expects to realize savings of $58,657 annually in energy costs. Regional utility company rebates will reduce the upfront cost of installing the Helen Lamps, creating a payback period of less than a year.
The Helen Lamp is a plug-and-play LED replacement for CFL downlights with four-pin G24q-series (electronic ballast) sockets or two-pin G24d-series (magnetic ballast) sockets. Simply choose the horizontal or vertical configuration, plug it in like any CFL lamp, and enjoy the superior LED light quality and energy savings, says Lunera. There is said to be no need to bypass the CFL ballast.
The lamp’s long lifespan is rated at 50,000 hours, five times longer than CFLs, and is supported by a five-year warranty.
