Lutron showcases wireless retrofit lighting controls at NFMT expo

by AF 0317 f3 — March 19, 2010—Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., a world leader in the design and manufacturing of light and shade control solutions, showcased its comprehensive new lineup of innovative wireless retrofit products at the National Facilities Management & Technology expo, March 16-18 in Baltimore, Md.

Lutron demonstrated that light control is the best of many effective methods for bringing energy efficiency to commercial and residential spaces. A variety of exciting new technologies that reduce cost and save energy were displayed. Highlights are noted here:

  • Radio Powr Savr Wireless sensor product family: Easy to install with optimum savings, Radio Powr Savr occupancy/vacancy sensor provides a simple way to go green. Specifically designed for quick and simple installation in spaces where automatic lighting shut-off is desirable. The Radio Powr Savr daylight sensor reduces electric lighting to take advantage of available daylight.

  • Energi Savr Node product family: A simple, programmable, and totally modular solution, the Energi Savr Node QS can be used to control ballasts and connect occupancy/vacancy sensors, daylight sensors, and wallstations for total light management. Ideal for retrofits and new construction, each module can be installed locally, without connection to a central panel.

  • GRAFIK Eye QS with Wireless Technology: GRAFIK Eye QS is a fully customizable preset light and shade control system, providing convenient control, energy savings and enhancement of the visual environment. Now armed with wireless technology, GRAFIK Eye QS enables effortless communication, seamless integration, and complete control of lights and electronically controlled shades.

  • Smart Grid Initiative: Lutron broadens the use of its existing technologies currently used in many “whole building” lighting systems. The company plans to help connect power utilities’ “smart metering” to the electrical infrastructure in both residential homes and commercial spaces. The initiative will also include focused, new technology development efforts led by a newly formed Energy Solutions Business Unit.
