Magnum launches mobile light towers, mobile generator

by Brianna Crandall — February 25, 2015—Facilities managers looking to rent equipment for construction project or events may be interested that Magnum, designer and manufacturer of mobile power products, has introduced the MLT6S light tower, MLT4000 SD solar hybrid light tower, and MMG45 mobile generator. These new products are being showcased this week at The Rental Show in New Orleans.

The new light towers and generators will help Magnum meet growing market demands, as total revenue for the equipment rental industry is predicted to increase 8.1 percent in 2015 to reach $38.5 billion in the United States, according to the American Rental Association.

“Rental companies require solutions for their customers that enhance performance and maximize productivity,” said Terry Dolan, executive vice president of Generac’s Mobile Products division, the business unit that combines Magnum Power Products, Tower Light and MAC Heaters. “These new products lower operating costs—delivering a significant return on investment for customers working in specialized applications, including oil and gas operations, and road and industrial construction.”

Through state-of-the-art features, the MLT6S and MLT4000 SD are designed to optimize operating costs for rental customers.

The solar hybrid tower offers fuel savings, particularly for events or on a job site where green compliance is requested.

The MLT6S, a vertical mast light tower, provides extended service intervals ranging up to 750 hours. It is said to have the largest fuel tank in its class, which reduces refueling requirements and increases worksite productivity. Up to 19 MLT6S units can be transported on a 53-foot flatbed truck, which helps lower transportation costs, and the unique design enables faster loading and unloading at job sites and rental yards. Additional features, such as an external control panel access and easy-to-follow graphic starting instructions, were implemented for ease of operation.

“In the rental industry, time is money. The MLT6S is among the quickest and easiest light towers to set up and service in the industry, while also delivering longer run time compared with standard light towers,” said Dave McAllister, Magnum’s director of product management.

Solar hybrid towers also are an option for rental clients seeking lighting solutions and fuel savings, particularly for events or on a job site where green compliance is requested. The MLT4000 SD has three deployable solar panels that harvest the power of the sun to yield up to 780 watts of solar power. In addition to sunlight, it can also operate on diesel fuel, making it both cost-effective and reliable.

MMG45 mobile generator

The quiet-running mobile generator features a 24-hour run time and large access panels for easy maintenance.

The new MMG45 anchors Magnum’s mobile generator portfolio. According to Magnum, it is one of the quietest generators in its class, featuring advanced sound attenuation at 65 dB when operating at full load. Notable features include a Final Tier 4 Isuzu engine, a rust-proof aluminum enclosure, a custom-built heavy-duty trailer, and large access panels for easy maintenance. At full load, the generator has a 24-hour run time, and is managed through a state-of-the-art POWER ZONE controller with a 7-inch color display.

Magnum, now a Generac Company, is a manufacturer of mobile power products. Its portfolio includes high-quality light towers, mobile generators, trash pumps, water trailers, and combination power units, all of which can be used in a variety of industries and specialties, such as construction, energy, mining, government, military, and special events. The company’s products are distributed through equipment rental companies, equipment dealers, and construction companies across the world.
