by Jbs121409 b3 — December 16, 2009—Manhattan Software announced recently that it has donated copies of its CenterStone computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software to Pratt Manhattan. The Facilities Management Masters of Science department at Pratt is one of the few Facilities Management graduate degree programs in the U.S.
The mission of the school is to effectively prepare graduates as critical and creative thinkers to assume executive leadership responsibilities in the management of facilities operations, projects and finances.
Pratt students will use the CenterStone application in Associate Professor Russell Olson’s class on Computer Applications for Facilities Management. Professor Olson is also president of the R.O.I. Consulting Group, which has partnered with Manhattan on a number of successful implementations over the years for such clients as Pepsi Cola and Comcast.
Harriet Markis, PE and Chair & Associate Professor of the Facilities Management program at Pratt noted, “The donation of the CenterStone software will allow our students hands-on experience with the leading FM software product as rated by the IT research firm, Gartner. By using CenterStone, our students will be able to understand the process of automating space planning and management, preventive and reactive maintenance, asset management and lease administration.
