by Shane Henson — November 28, 2012—MaxLite, a New Jersey-based designer and manufacturer of lighting products, including light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), recently announced the release of its Direct Lit LED Flat Panel Performance Series.
Designed for drop-in ceilings, MaxLite’s Direct Lit LED Flat Panels are the ideal energy-efficient replacement for fluorescent fixtures in offices, schools, hospitality, healthcare and other commercial and industrial applications requiring only a minimal installation depth, the company says. As with many of the company’s other lighting products, panels in this series are DesignLights Consortium-certified and may qualify for utility rebates across North America.
According to MaxLite, the LED Flat Panel Performance Series produces an even, consistent, shadowless light while enabling long life, high-lumen maintenance and a high color rendering index. The Performance Series is offered in a full line of standard sizes in 3500K, 4100K and 5000K correlated color temperatures; build-to-order sizes are available upon request.
The fixtures are constructed with translucent white lenses and high-rank, narrowly binned LEDs for crisp color rendering and uniformity. The satin polycarbonate face frame with steel housing enables durability, optimal heat sink and long life, while the modular construction ensures easy maintenance and replacement.
The fully dimmable fixtures are compatible with building controls, motion sensors, timers and daylight harvesting systems, and up to 20 panels can be synchronized to a master panel so they can operate as one system, says MaxLite.
