by Shane Henson — April 19, 2013—MaxLite, a long-time provider of energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) products, recently announced the availability of its dimmable, six-watt LED PAR16 lamp. Developed for accent, architectural, under-cabinet and wall-wash lighting applications, the lamp can be used in track and mini recessed fixtures for spot and wall grazing applications to display artwork in galleries or museums; highlight decorative accents in hospitality, residential or corporate environments; or spotlight products in retail environments, says the company.

“Our new LED PAR16 lamp is the ideal choice for providing energy efficient, architectural lighting in high-end specification projects,” said Pat Treadway, MaxLite’s vice president of product marketing and engineering. “This new lamp provides substantial energy savings and superior, halogen-like quality of light.”

MaxLite’s new LED PAR16 lamp offers very strong center beam candlepower and a better quality light than current halogen and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), MaxLite says. The LED PAR16 provides superior cost savings, especially when used with building controls, timers and motion sensors that use a mechanical relay. Suitable for damp locations, the new LED lamp is available in both warm white and daylight color temperatures and operates on 120-volt electrical systems. The lamp is engineered with proprietary binned LED chips that provide uniform color consistency and quality.

Die-cast aluminum construction molds the body into a fin shape that increases the aluminum’s cooling surface, which acts as a heat sink and keeps the LED junction temperature below specification, enabling cool operation and maintained lumens. A sleek architectural white finish complements most types of interior décor, adds the company.
