MCS Fire & Security to upgrade TCU’s mass notification system

by Shane Henson — November 28, 2012—Texas Christian University (TCU) has contracted MCS Fire & Security to upgrade its existing fire alarm system and to make it the cornerstone of its mass notification and emergency communication system, which has become a must-have for TCU and other higher education institutions needing to relay time-sensitive information to students and staff in the event of a campus-wide emergency.

MCS Fire & Security, a provider of complete security solutions for thousands of commercial, government and institutional clients in the United States, says it is working with TCU personnel in the development of its site safety plan for the campus.

When working to improve an entity’s mass notification system, MCS Fire & Security performs a thorough investigation and analysis of its current system. After in-depth consultations, MCS then provides a custom-designed solution featuring state-of-the-art technology identifying and addressing the following key components of protection and notification:

  • Area of Rescue
  • Signage
  • Telephony
  • Paging
  • Mass Communication
  • Instant Messaging
  • Command and Control
  • Security
  • Fire Alarm
  • Video Surveillance

“We’re excited to partner with TCU for this very important life-safety project, and look forward to completing this one-of-a-kind mass notification system,” said Ray Gilley, president of MCS Fire & Security.
