by Brianna Crandall — December 24, 2010—MITIE, the strategic outsourcing company, recently announced it has been awarded an integrated facilities management contract by the world-famous Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden, home to The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet. The five-year contract is valued at 19 million.
MITIE’s integrated FM proposition for the project brings together soft FM service capabilities such as security and cleaning services with technical FM skills. Over 100 MITIE people will operate around the clock to deliver services including engineering, cleaning, security, telephony, mail and reprographics.
The Royal Opera House began a six-month tender process with a view to developing a consolidated approach to their FM service delivery. MITIE was able to demonstrate its ability to deliver the tendered services under one contract, combining exceptional service levels along with significant operating and energy efficiencies.
