by Shane Henson — November 5, 2012—Electronics and technology giant Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has launched a new line of elevators for buildings within the Central and South American market. According to the company, its NEXIEZ-series elevators feature load capacities of 450-700 kilograms and speeds of 1.0-1.75 meters per second. The elevators are specially designed for low- to mid-rise residences and offices in Latin America, where the company hopes to expand its business and sell 800 units in 2013.
The NEXIEZ-GPX line also features new designs matched to carefully researched preferences and requirements in Latin America, says Mitsubishi Electric, including various colors and patterns for different parts of the elevators.
Additional selling points of the elevators include:
- Four types of ceiling designs to match regionally popular building designs and colors;
- Local production and engineering, as well as improved logistics help to reduce costs and delivery times;
- Stylishly designed ceilings to create depth, and light-emitting diodes (LED) down lighting for enhanced ambience. LED down lighting also reduces power consumption by 88% compared to conventional incandescent lighting; and
- Permanent magnetic gearless traction machine to reduce power consumption by 20% compared to worm-geared traction machine with inverter control.
The demand for elevators is rising worldwide in line with increasing construction, particularly in emerging markets, and diversifying to reflect regional needs, notes Mitsubishi Electric. Demand in Latin America emphasizes safe and competitively priced elevators for low- to mid-rise buildings.
